Service Description
If you desire complete relaxation, calm, and peace—if your body and mind would benefit from some downtime in a warm room, on a soft mat, maybe under a blanket, probably wearing thick (maybe fluffy) socks, with dim lighting, candles and chilled music—then this is the class for you. The class starts with gentle movement or breathing to help you detach from your day/week (life?) followed by a guided relaxation that takes you through different sensory experiences to get you completely out of your mind and into your body, down regulating your nervous system as you go. That leaves us with 20 to 30 minutes left for some scrummy stretches. Again, guided, these are long-held positions supported by bolsters, so everything is done down on the mat. The postures target the connective tissues (fascia, tendon, ligament) of the joints, as well as the muscles. You'll hold the positions for longer, allowing you to surrender into the shape, seeking out tension and releasing it with the breath. It's a beautifully mindful experience.
