Terms & Conditions
I’ve done my best to keep this clear and easy to follow — please take a moment to read through. Not everything will apply to you, and what’s relevant may be spread throughout depending on the services you use.
Studio Use
The Chestnut Road Studio is not a gym. It's a small, intimate space that has a lot of visitors every week. Some have health issues, some are elderly, all are here for the wellbeing of mind and body. Remember that your lived experience may not be the next persons, and therefore safety may not look to the next person as it looks to you. Make no presumptions and move around the space mindfully.

Everything listed below is there because I have learned that it needs to be.

On the subject of SECURITY:
-
Doors open 10 minutes before class, there's no need to arrive any earlier than that. Doors are locked at class start time, please arrive in time to get settled in.
-
If you are late and haven't sent Jo a DM, you're gonna get locked out!
On the subject of HEALTH, SAFETY & HYGIENE:
-
Use the handrails as you walk down the stairs.
-
Bare feet OR sticky socks in the studio please, definitely no shoes. Foot infections / skin damage MUST be covered / protected.
-
Reschedule your class if you are ill / contagious.
-
Wipe the studio mat and equipment after use, using the cloths and spray provided. Please, just spray the cloth, there's no need to fumigate the room!
-
Using a bolster? Place the little sheets between your skin / hair / face and it.
-
Leave everything as it was left for you.

On the subject of SHARING SPACE:
-
All personal belongings to be kept upstairs during class, only take downstairs what you need for class.
-
I love that you love it, but there's really no need to apply perfume or other strong scent to come to a small, enclosed space, where we practice conscious breathing, often deeply. Thank you, but nope.
-
Be aware of the energy you bring with you, check your ego at the door.
-
There will soon be hooks placed around the studio for your top layers, it's nicer than throwing your clothing on the floor, don't you think?
-
Even though your phone is upstairs, put it on silent or airplane mode anyway.

My needs as your TEACHER:
-
Take time to make sure the front gate is locked properly behind you.
-
For Pilates and Yoga, please wear clothing that allows me to see your alignment. Hoodies or heavy layers are not useful.
-
I'll demonstrate, and I'll use verbal cues, but at times I may need to use my hands to adjust you. LMK if you're not comfortable with this.
-
Access is through the front gate, then the side gate, to the back door.
-
PLEASE do not walk over the carpet in shoes, take them off on the mat. It should be clear where your stuff can be left, but if you're unsure please just ask.
Booking & Rescheduling Group Classes
Studio members can choose and purchase a class pack with a start date that suits them. Packages renew automatically each month and can be cancelled at any time through your account. Packages expire after 1 month, and any unused credits will be lost.
All bookings are made through your account. At least 2 hours’ notice is required to cancel a class — late cancellations will result in the loss of that class credit.
Cancelling group classes
If only one person is booked onto a class, it will be cancelled. If I need to cancel for any other reason, I’ll give at least 2 hours’ notice. In both cases, a class credit will be applied.
Rescheduling a booked service
Group classes require at least 2 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule, which can be done through your account. For massage appointments and 1:1 sessions, 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule.
Refund Policy
Please check that your package, product, price, and dates are correct before completing your purchase. Refunds are not given for user error.
Subscriptions
Monthly plans renew automatically each month. This is shown at the time of purchase. It’s your responsibility to cancel through your account before the renewal date. If a payment is taken before cancellation, please refer to the Refund Policy.
Need to take a break from classes?
Packages can’t be paused once they’ve started. If you need a break (for example, holidays or school breaks), please let your current package expire — making sure your subscription is cancelled — and then purchase a new one with a start date that suits you.
As spaces are limited, there may be a waitlist. If you’re concerned about keeping your place, please chat to me in advance and try not to leave it until the last minute.
