Myofascial Touch Therapy
Working with your body, not against it.
Service Description
Myofascial touch therapy offers a slower, gentler approach to hands-on therapy. Unlike many forms of massage, there is very little kneading or repetitive movement. Instead, I'll use slow, sustained contact and carefully directed pressure to provide meaningful information to your nervous system, helping your body feel more comfortable and move with greater ease. The treatment is slow by design. We may spend several minutes in one area, allowing your body time to respond, rather than trying to force change. Many people are surprised by how still these sessions feel, but it's often within this stillness that they begin to notice a sense of ease, comfort and connection with their body. Expect a quiet, unhurried experience. There is very little talking, and no expectation to do anything other than make yourself comfortable. As the treatment unfolds, you may notice a sense of calm, warmth, heaviness, lightness or simply a feeling of being more connected. Some changes are subtle, others more noticeable, but every session is unique and every treatment is tailored to you; guided by how your body responds on the day. While no treatment can promise specific outcomes, many people report feeling more comfortable, moving more freely and becoming more connected with how their body feels after a session. Current research suggests that many of the benefits of Myofascial Touch Therapy are likely to come through the way intelligent, mindful touch influences the nervous system, rather than by physically forcing change or ‘releasing’ tissue.
